A bluetooth adapter (actual model may vary from that shown) that uses the Toshiba bluetooth stack - required by the NEW Wii remote.

When Nintendo changed the Wii remote in November 2011 they did something that stopped it working with the Microsoft bluetooth stack and hence with the Smoothboard software however the Smoothboard software has been adapted to work with this bluetooth dongle, so if you have one of the new Wii remotes this is what you need to get it working!

See this document for further details. There is now a specific way for connecting the TR version to the Toshiba Bluetooth software (see below).

The newer wii remote (manufactured after Nov 2011) is commonly referred to as the TR version by many of us.

Connecting the Wii TR Remote

1. Install the Toshiba bluetooth dongle and software

2. Connect the Wii remote by pressing the 1+2 button and the search within the Toshiba software - it will connect and disconnect

3. Press the 1+2 again and let it time out - the LEDs will stop blinking - do not do anything else until they stop.

4. In the Toshiba settings right-click on the Wii remote icon and choose 'connect' - once it starts searching press the A button (well press any button BUT not the 1,2 or reset buttons) - the LEDs will blink again.

5. Launch Smoothboard which will detect and connect itself.

Here is some further info on the TR version

For more detailed instructions on connecting the TR version, follow this DETAILED GUIDELINE. Please bear in mind, depending on your operating system, you may be presented with images / options that appear slightly different to ours and we have tried our best to document the steps we follow to connect the wii remote.

Our test system is Windows 7 Professional 64bit. We are further assuming you have adequate knowledge and experience with the installation of drivers and software on computers and that the computer can be rendered unusable if important system files are deleted or damaged in the process. If you are unsure, please feel free to contact us.
